Jessica Biel: All the Credentials that Count
Jessica Biel was born with a silver spoon in her mouth as can be seen in her background, although she was far from being a spoiled brat.
For high school, her parents sent her to a private school – the Lycée Français de Los Angeles. After graduating, she enrolled as a freshman in Tufts University in Massachusetts but left before completing her degree to pursue acting. Biels is into ballet, jogging, hiking and yoga, and presently lives in Los Angeles. She once dated actor Chris Evans whom she starred with in the films, London and Cellular. She supports non-profit groups and co-founded MTDN, which stands for Make the Difference Network. She devotes time and effort to “Rebuilding Together”, a home rehabilitation project.
Jessica Claire Biels was born in Minnesota on March 3, 1982 and had her major break playing the role of Mary Camden in 7th Heaven, one of the longest running family series on TV. She also starred in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Like most actresses, Biel started on the fashion ramp, after attending California’s International Modeling and Talent Association Convention and became a teen print model. She landed the 7th Heaven role at age 14, and at age 15, co-starred with Peter Fonda in Ulee’s Gold. L’Oreal Cosmetics also hired Jessica to be the company’s spokesperson in 2002.
Only 17 years old, Biel decided to pose half-nude for Gear magazine in 2002, explaining that her wholesome image in 7th Heaven was partly to blame for her film career being stalled. She almost made it to the film American Beauty, but instead the role was given to Thora Birch. Biel wanted to get out of her contract with 7th Heaven which she achieved, but later said that she regretted posing nude for Gear. She returned to 7th Heaven and continued to act in the series during the show’s 2001-2002 season.
Biel worked on several projects after she left 7th Heaven including:
- Stealth (2005)
- Blade: Trinity (2004)
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
- Rules of Attraction (2002)
- Summer Catch (2001)
The above projects were specifically intended for teens and young adults.
